Brian Torosian kindly brought to my attention the fact that this work is not by Mertz, but in fact by Ivan Klinger. It was included in a manuscript set in the Rischel & Birket-Smith collection with a title page stating that it was a collection of Mertz manuscripts. This is true for the first part of this set of pages, but the second half consists mainly of copies of works by Klinger. It appears that the manuscript set is a handwritten copy of editions printed by Jurgenson in Moscow. The first half being a copy of Mertz works and the second a set of Klinger works.
