An updated English version of my article on Luigi Legnani’s missing opus 9 has been published by Soundboard Scholar. The original version was first published in Italian in il Fronimo n. 194 in April 2021 and in Japanese in Gendai Guitar n. 696 September 2021. A full facsimile of the original Legnani opus 9 edition is included with the article.

Two new volumes from DGA Editions are now available. The first volume is In Search of Sagrini, written by Bernard Lewis and Robert Coldwell. The second volume is The Music of Luigi Sagrini which presents 24 editions published by Sagrini from 1825 to 1850. Each volume is available in print and digital format. The digital editions were released 2/2/2022, and the print editions were released 2/16/2022.

With the book “A. T. Huerta Life and Works” I wrote with Javier Suárez-Pajares in 2006 out of print (digital edition still available) and no current plans for a second edition, I will post information here about new music and information that has been discovered about Huerta.

(more…)The Emilia Giuliani book is finally done! She was the daughter of Mauro Giuliani. Very little information about her has been available and only a few of her compositions have had much attention since their original publication in the 1830-40’s. In the 200th anniversary year of her birth I’m proud to release this book with tremendous work and support from Nicoletta Confalone and Thomas Heck.
