Gatcomb’s
L. B. Gatcomb & Co. published “Gatcomb’s Banjo & Guitar Gazette” from 1887 to 1891, then changed the name to “Gatcomb’s Musical Gazette” in 1891 and ceased publication in 1899.
Since I haven’t seen more issues than are listed below I can’t fill in the full range of issues. There were single month and double month editions which led to breaks in the order of issue numbers. The empty issues might not all exist if more double month issues were published. As more issues are located I will clean up the volume/number data.
An amazing index of American banjo, mandolin and guitar journals, which includes the Gatcomb journals, was written by Jeffrey Noonan: The Guitar in American Banjo, Mandolin, and Guitar Periodicals, 1882-1933.
